Compact with Africa is a G20-endorsed platform dedicated to mobilizing private investment in Africa.
Launched in 2017 under Germany’s G20 Presidency and co-chaired by Germany and South Africa it brings together G20 countries, African governments, international financial institutions such as the WBG, IMF and AfDB, African policy institutes like ACET, and private investors — all aligning efforts and pooling expertise to scale impact In its first phase, the Compact supported 13 countries to strengthen economies, improve business environments, and attract investment — mobilizing private capital and supporting thousands of firms.
Now entering its second phase (2025–2033), the Compact aims to scale up ambition and impact — deepening partnerships, aligning reforms with investment opportunities, and focusing on measurable outcomes that drive private investments and job creation.
